Overview
Demon is a British heavy metal band that formed in 1979 and had a big impact on the genre throughout the 1980s. The Demon heyday may be long gone, but Dave Hill and co. are still going strong, and the old-school rockers now have their very own slot.
Created by Play’n Go, Demon is a 5-reel, 3-row slot that comes with 30 paylines, a rocking soundtrack, and all the great visuals and features you’d expect from this top development studio. There’s even something here that you won’t find on most other music slots—read on to learn more.
Demon Game Features
Demon combines demonic imagery with a stunning soundtrack. You have 7 songs to choose from when the slot loads, all of which are available via the little “Playlist” icon:
- Full Moon
- Deliver Us From Evil
- Night of the Demon
- Don’t Break the Circle
- Sign of a Madman
- The Plague
- Get The Hell Out of Here
It also includes a song called The Devil Rides Out, which was created exclusively for the game. It’s an unlockable song, and you must take 100 real money spins to activate it.
Also, while Deliver Us From Evil and Don’t Break the Circle were first released in 1981 and 1982 respectively, the slot uses the 1988 remixes.
The Wild Mask symbol (the golden goat head) is the game’s Wild and its biggest symbol. It substitutes for everything except the Wild Amulet, which also acts as a substitution symbol. If the Wild Mask appears in the middle of the pentagram (the center of the game grid), it turns all of the Singer symbols (Dave Hill, of course) into Wilds.
Hill awards 15x when he appears 5 times on a single payline. He is followed closely by the Golden Crucifix, Gargoyle, Faceless Man, and Stone Angel. The lower-paying symbols are represented by classic playing card icons (10, J, Q, K, A).
In addition to the Wilds, the Demon slot has two unlockable features. One Helluva Night Free Spins activates when the Wild Amulet appears on reels 1 and 5 and the Wild Mask lands in the middle reel. 6 spins are awarded for this, but that jumps to 11 if the Wild Mask lands in the center position.
A win multiplier is chosen at random to boost returns. It offers 2x, 3x, 5x, or 8x, with the amount displayed at the top of the reels.
You can’t have a Demon slot without visiting the underworld. Head for Hades via the Portal to Hell, which awards between 4 and 10 Hell Spins. This triggers during the Free Spins round, and it carries over the multiplier that’s active at the time.
Once all of the Hell Spins have concluded, the Free Spins feature continues until the conclusion.
Verdict: For the nostalgic hard rock and NWOBHM fans
We know a thing or two about music slots, and we can tell you that it’s rare to find a game that offers as many as 8 songs from the band in question. It’s even rarer for one of those songs to be an exclusive! Kudos to Play’n Go and Demon for doing something unique and creating a premium playlist.
The slot itself isn’t half bad, either. It includes a couple of Wilds, two Free Spin features, and a maximum win that’s capped at 5,000x.
