As the only surviving member of the original line-up, it’s no surprise that Jeff Waters plays a big part in the Annihilator slot. As classics like Alison Hell, 21, King of the Kill, and Psycho Ward play in the background, the guitarist serves as the game’s Wild symbol, substituting for other main game symbols.

On random spins, the Wild can expand to fill the entire reel. If there is no win during that spin, the Expanded Wild will remain while the reel spins again. This is known as the In Command feature, a reference to the song I Am in Command from Never, Neverland.

And you can’t have an Annihilator slot without the odd appearance from Alice. This time, Alice and her doll Clare appear as one of the main game symbols. The doll also takes on the form of a Bonus symbol and unlocks the Fun Palace feature. Just choose one of the dolls to reveal a prize. You can keep picking and collecting until a demon is revealed, at which point the feature ends.

Incidentally, you can unlock the Set the World On Fire feature via the Fun Palace bonus, making this feature—and that creepy little doll—one of the game’s most important. The same isn’t true of the reverse though and you can’t unlock the bonus during the free spins.

Verdict: Unapologetic thrash metal slot game

Annihilator has everything you could ask for in a rock-themed slot. There’s a playlist packed with classic songs, a creepy setting, and images depicting the band’s famous artwork and iconography. The icing on the cake comes in the form of several bonus features, all of which are nods to previous songs and albums.

You don’t have to be an Annihilator fan to enjoy this slot, but it certainly helps if you have a fondness for thrash metal and the big-hair, big-riff bands that made the genre what it is today.
